News & Announcements
YA Monday Movie Madness
Middle and high school students, take a Monday after-school break with our screening of Edward Scissorhands on October 23 from 4-6 pm. This 1990 movie is rated PG-13, and runs for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Call to RSVP. Popcorn will be served.
Craft Club for Kids
NEW DATE: Our Kids' Craft Club will make homemade lip balm on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18, at 4 pm. Call to reserve your spot. PLEASE NOTE: This class is only for 8- to 12-year-olds.
Lego Mindstorms for Young Adults
Our Lego Mindstorms building challenge for young adults in middle and high school continues on the next two Wednesdays, October 18 and 25, from 4 to 5 pm. RSVP required.
Pumpkin Palooza!
BYOP - bring your own small pumpkin - and let your imagination run wild as our beloved annual tradition of decorating pumpkins comes around again, on Thursday, October 19, at 4 pm. We will provide all the supplies you need for decorating.
Fall Festival this Saturday
Head over to the Roseland Free Public Library on Saturday, October 21, from 11 am to 2 pm for some family fun featuring a bouncy house, face painting, games, maze, and other fun activities! Costumes welcome. General admission is free. Food trucks will be selling lunch items such as hot dogs, empanadas, and other goodies. Donuts and cider will be on sale to benefit the library. Pet Photo Contest Winner Announcement
The winners of the Pet Photo Contest fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of the Roseland Free Public Library will be announced at the Fall Family Festival, Oct. 21, around 1 pm. Prizes include gift cards to Choice Pet in Livingston and Furever Friends Pet Groomers in West Caldwell. Thank you to all who participated!
Dean Martin Musical Tribute
Dave DeLuca presents "That's Amore: A Century of Dean Martin," a one-man musical tribute to one of the most popular entertainers of the mid-20th century, on Sunday, October 22, at 2 pm. Call to RSVP.
La Bella Musica Italiana
Treat yourself to an afternoon of Italian Music with the Bella Musica Italiana ensemble on Sunday, November 5, at 2 pm. Call to RSVP.
Knitting & Crochet Club
Enjoy an evening of knitting and crocheting at the library on Monday, November 20, starting at 7 pm. New members welcome.
Adult Meditation Classes
Join us for these Thursdays of Mindfulness: October 26 at 7 pm, November 2 at 10 am, and November 16 at 7 pm. Call to RSVP.
Adult Yoga Every Wednesday
Our weekly Adult Yoga class is every Wednesday at 10:30 am in the Community Room. RSVP is appreciated, but not required.
Roseland Library Book Club
Our Book Club will meet on Wednesday, October 25, at 7:15 pm to discuss The Women in the Castle by Jessica Shattuck. Three widows and the children of Nazi resistance fighters create their own makeshift family in a crumbling, once glorious Bavarian Castle. Unsettling secrets are revealed, creating a complex web of challenges. New members always welcome.
Matinee Mondays
Monday Matinee resumes on October 23, at 1 pm, with The Zookeeper's Wife, a World War II drama released in 2017. Rated PG-13, runs 2 hours and 7 minutes. Popcorn will be served and no RSVP is needed.
Museum Passes Available
Patrons can borrow passes for themselves and/or their families for The Newark Museum, Montclair Museum, Morris Museum, and (coming soon) the NY Transit Museum and Imagine That!
